Super cute enemies to lovers, boss and employee quick read. So cute, fun, a little spicy and a whole lot of sass

I loved this story. It was so much fun. I spent the entire book laughing out loud and swooning and being frustrated with characters I wanted things to work out for and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love Laura's contemporary stories just as much as I love her paranormal and I can't wait to see what she writes next!

This book was a bit shocking in the beginning but I feel like the enemies to lovers was pretty true. Both characters were a little mean but it worked and I thought they worked well together.

When I read an enemies you lovers I want more angst and banter and hatred. This was mediocre…I enjoyed it but didn’t love it.

The Title says it all.

Enemies to lovers. Office romance. They had great banter. It was a cute quick read. Found this book of booktok and it did not disappoint.

I liken this to a poor man’s [b:Beautiful Bastard|16102004|Beautiful Bastard (Beautiful Bastard, #1)|Christina Lauren|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1362258921l/16102004._SY75_.jpg|21912533]

Down to the corporate setting, a jerk of a boss, an executive assistant that works below her pay grade, each riling each other up to succumb to numerous bouts of hate sex that culminates in the bonding work trip, and the inevitable 3rd act breakup with lots of needed groveling to follow.

Make note that this was more raunchy and crass than its more sophisticated, and definitely more memorable, predecessor. I suppose this imitation is the best form of flattery.

An office romance between two very strong willed people. Billionaire Bosshole held a different than candle to some other books in this category. Ronan Maxwell and Quinn Montgomery may have had the boss and employee roles down, but their relationship was on a whole different level.

While Ronan certainly held the Bosshole title well, Quinn didn't let him escape with his holier than thou art attitude. She was the first assistant to not quit within the first month of working with him. Good looks aside, his less than stellar personality usually ran his assistants off within the first week, but Quinn actually liked her job and her salary, aside from Ronan's grumpy attitude.

I can totally empathize with Quinn on the job aspect of this book. Not that I had a boss who was nice to look at (that would have been a nice perk), but I did have ones who were total bossholes. However, I did really enjoy my job aside from the person I worked under. It does make it tough to go into work some days, but knowing you actually enjoy the work you do does make the days you actually have to deal with your boss a little less brutal.

Ronan was attracted to Quinn from the moment she was hired. Yes, he was always a jerk, but he knew he stepped up his game with her hoping she'd quit because he knew he was distracted with her working so close to him. Unfortunately, she was also the most competent assistant he'd ever had, so he also hoped she wouldn't quit. He lived in constant hell, making his grumpiness worse.

Their chemistry is thick and one day it finally explodes. They do realize it shouldn't happen and agree to not allow to have it happen again, but once is never enough or enough or enough. However, can Quinn really jeopardize her job over Ronan's fine bedroom skills, especially when they've never actually been in a bedroom?

If you like office romance books with explosive chemistry, then I truly do believe you will like this book. It's very well written with strong characters and can be read as a total standalone.
