Absolutely wonderful. I flew through this book in two days and enjoyed every single story line. Tracing a painting's history back through those who owned it really creates a delicious narrative to sink your teeth into.

I liked seeing how the painting affected all of its owners differently, but the way the chapters were arranged was a bit confusing. I could not always figure out if it was going forward or back in time. Also, I would have like to know if the current owner ever found out if it was a Vermeer or not.

One of the best books I've ever read. It's actually an anthology of short stories that follow the life of a famous painting revealing the characters through their relationship with the painting. Loved it.

It wasn't necessarily a bad book, it was just . . utterly boring. I felt like I was hallucating for the most of it and the words didn't quite register in my head.

However, I did like the last story, 'Magdalena Looking '. If I were to review the book solely on that particular story it would've been up to four stars.
