No, I didn't cry, I swear, I didn't!

Totally not-human Alaster and very much human Zora meet in a seedy bar. Their connection is instant but only Alaster knows what it really is. Both of them have secrets they'd rather not share and it works for a while, but what's life without a little divine intervention (and demon assasins)?

In my language Zora means "dawn" and it just so happens to be my aunt's name (it's actually Zorica, Zora is a nickname but the meaning is the same). I found it fitting, especially after the "divine intervention".

After a couple of minutes of imagining my aunt as a book character, I focused on the story. Here are my thoughts.

Nothing's missing (except even more Nathaniel, but I'll get my fill in the next book), the pacing is perfect, the steam is steamy, the characters are likable and the dedication at the beginning warms my heart.

The ending of the third chapter made me cry and the epilogue almost did too. I think that's my favourite part.

I LOVE that Serwa, Issa and Nathaniel from the previous book made an appearance. I was afraid they wouldn't and I may or may not have jumped in my seat when they did.

Serwa could've saved everyone a lot of trouble if she showed up earlier with her magic fingers but there would be no fun in that, it had to happen this way.

I really enjoyed this book, I read it almost in one sitting and I can't wait to read the next one.

*Huge thank you to BookSirens for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
