All-Night Party by R.L. Stine

I typically find R.L. Stine’s Fear Street novels to have at least one good twist. All Night Party unfortunately has an unoriginal storyline. Coupled with the toxic masculinity and sexism that are regular themes in Stine’s books, Fear Street #43 was not a diverting way to spend an afternoon.

Being that this was my first proper Fear Street read, I was pleasantly surprised. This was honestly pretty fun, and very quick, I basically flew through it, and I was a little shocked when the killer was revealed. I was definitely inspired to pick up some books from this series after my watch of the Netflix Fear Street trilogy, and I'm happy I did, can't wait to pick up another one.

Sigh, from what I've learned from this Cramathon.. I don't love R.L. Stine's Fear Street books as much as I used to. It's nostalgic for sure, but the writing is very notably juvenile for my taste (however, I find that this doesn't apply to the Fear Street Saga [The Betrayal, the secret, and.. I forgot the 3rd one and then the other bind-up of the trilogy following called "Cursed"]). This book was enjoyable because it didn't feel as "Oh my God! I cannot believe that happened!" (meaning the main narrator didn't sound as naive) as the other ones I've read for this cramathon. The ending also wasn't as predictable as I thought it was going to be. This book really has the bare bones for a really cool story, but I just wish it was a smidge more "mature". I really love how fast it is to get through the Fear Street books though, I will still keep reading and searching for the ones that don't have my cynical self rolling my eyes and how "shocked" the main character is that something ELSE bad happened.

Loved it just like all the other Fear Street books!!! Once I start reading them I can't stop. Even though most of them have similar storyline, I can't seem to get bored of them.
