Kate Canterbary has a knack for writing strong female leads. If you’ve read the Walsh series you will recognize Magnolia, aka Rooftop Garden Girl aka Gigi. While this is technically a stand alone novel you will enjoy this book more if you have read the rest of the Walsh series first. Gigi has a history of falling for the wrong men. She is brilliant in her field but feels that she found her professional calling later than she should have. Her mother is ready to see her settled down and convinces her to give online dating a try. Anyone who has tried online dating will commiserate with the interactions Gigi is subjected to. A few bad dates and online blocked men later Gigi fis approached by Rob online and agrees to a date. She also encounters her new neighbor, fireman Ben, in a late night awkward altercation over operating electric saws during appropriate hours. You’ll enjoy reading the antics of Gigi dating two men (with their knowledge) and falling in love with one and in like with the other. Who does Gigi end up with? How do the men handle it?? Read to find out
Definite HEA guaranteed, no cheating

Love!

Magnolia, my lovely Magnolia. I’m so happy that you got your story and it was truly magnificent. You are a treasure, a gift. You are all of us and your turn in the online dating world was nightmare and a dream. In the end you found comfort in yourself. And maybe love? I won’t tell. They’ll have to read the story.

This book seriously made me laugh, and I always appreciate that. I absolutely adored Magnolia. One of the guys though I was never a fan of. He didN’t have much personality. I also don’t like how things ended with one of the guys. It was very abrupt and made me question why magnolia got in this situation in the first place when it was clearly the one guy was it for the longest time and the other guy didn’t even seem that into her.

I was surprised and initially turned off by the love triangle thing but actually ended up enjoying the story. And switching sides.

Magnolia has been through hell and back with relationships. She's misread signs, kissing her colleague and almost ruining her career, she's been with jerks, one who even kidnapped her do, and she's done.

Magnolia is finally feeling secure in her self, her booming gardening business, her friends. She is enough.

So when her mother challenges her to wade back into the 21st century dating scene, Magnolia only agrees because she knows she is finally ready and able to try and to not compromise. She's also not optimistic but it is easier to agree to her mother's wishes.

What Magnolia, the woman who is the friend, the woman who's never chosen first, isn't expecting is to find not one, but two men who start making her believe that maybe fate does indeed have a happily ever after in store for her, but now she can't decide which future she wants.

That's all I'm going to say about the plot, because you can meet Magnolia's suitors as I did, in the story! There is a happily ever after, but Magnolia does indeed have two men vying for her so if that is not to your taste, try one of the Walsh books.

I started reading Kate Canterbary's Walsh series late last year and have devoured every single book featuring one of my favorite contemporary romance families. I met Magnolia in the Walsh series and for a character who an author could have turned into a one-note villain, Magnolia is so much more.

Wild applause to Canterbary's craft at taking a secondary character woven throughout a beloved series and giving that secondary character the chance to take flight. You can certainly read Magnolia without first having read the Walsh series, but please do read those after you are done!

I received a free copy in exchange for a fair review! Thank you Kate Canterbary!

I can’t believe she redeemed a man who started a dating app conversation the way he did. I wanted to hate him so bad. I did hate Ben pretty much the entire and I also didn’t enjoy Magnolia stringing it along for so long knowing she was ready to choose. I also don’t understand a book written anytime after like 1900 being so odd about a woman dating two men and not sleeping with them - every character in the book acts like she’s just joined a swingers club because she goes on dates with two guys. Weird. Especially for a series full of hot dogs (I read book 2 first by accident).
