A book that makes you reflect. I haven’t seen grief and acceptance explored like this before. I was on the verge of tears throughout.

I think a sharper reader would’ve seen the ending coming. That doesn’t change how much it winds you though. A moving novel with a lot to reflect on.

I'll be thinking about this book for a long time. I've never read fiction so completely enmeshed in the main character's disability before and it was....gratifying isn't exactly the word, but it made me feel seen even though the particular struggles Elena faces are mostly different from my own. All of who I'd consider the main characters, have flaws and the reader is drawn to empathize with all of them despite those flaws. And the writing (and translation) is just excellent. "Don't keep the names other people give you."
