She did it again, another fantastic Bellandi novel! I have fallen in love with every character in each book in this series. I love the difference in this one though. We see some trauma actually happen to the main character and have to work through it, instead of them being rescued unscathed. I love seeing previous characters in the family and from other books! I am sad about no pregnancy trope but we got 5 other ones from previous books, I think I’ll be okay.
Overall, I’m so excited to see where she takes us from here in her wonderful world of mafia. :)

To preserve my sanity, I decided to DNF this book at 10%. It was too much for me, and since I don't mind spoilers, I went ahead and check the reviews. Safe to say it's not gonna be something that I can stomach no matter how beautiful the ending will get. Maybe if the 6th book out, I will try again...

Scarred Regrets is Scar and Irina's story. The nightmarish events they went through left me a sobbing mess. Scar's parents were drug addicts and neglected their kids. Irina was the child always caught in the middle of her parents and a little unstable. One day her mother up and left. Scar's a little broken no alot broken but I loved his character. And how two broken people (Scar/Irina) fit so perfectly together. I definitely recommend this series/book!! And I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

Outstanding!
This book is possibly my favourite in the series. It's definitely on par with book 3 and Rafael and Isa's story!
Throughout the book, my heart was pounding!! I could not put it down and I devoured it!
This book has many DARK moments, but god is it worth it.
Scar we have already established a relationship with as he's been with us for such a long time, and we knew he had scars. But how deep they really were, and his past?
Blew. my. Mind.
Irina is possibly my new favourite female heroine in history.
I loved her, and to see her overcome everything after being so broken, to become my kind of heroine, she reminded me a little of Isa and what I loved about Isa I love about Irina.
They are both willing to swing the axe and bathe in the blood of vengeance. Just... Pure chef's kiss that!
I really can't wait to read Calix book, I feel we've been teased for ages haha. And it was nice to see Ifa again (yes I'm just gonna write it how it's pronounced haha) and their book I can imagine will be when hopefully the war with the Irish in Chicago comes to an end.
You could FEEL it coming in this book, and it's pure adrenaline.
I can't recommend this book enough.
This whole series has kept me reading and on my toes full out.

The most gut wrenching, and emotional story of the Bellandi series, Scar and Irina will leave a permanent stamp on your heart! Forget everything you thought you knew about the dark mafia genre and get ready for all the feels! Sprinkled with a highly enjoyable collision of book world characters, this must read deserves much more than just 5 stars!

This may be the darkest and most emotional book of the series. I was intrigued by Scar from the first book when he was introduced as the bodyguard to Mateo's wife. I really loved his character, and he seemed to be such a damaged hero.
In this book, we learn just how brutal and devastating his backstory is. Scar has been through so much trauma and suffering. He becomes obsessed with Irina and slightly stalks her. He has a hard time staying away from her, especially since she tries her best to seduce him. He has a hard time being touched and keeps pushing her away. It is a struggle for Irina because he wants her but won't let himself be with her.
Irina gets kidnapped, and Scar does everything to get her back and claim her as his. However, Irina suffers a lot at the hands of one of her captors. Her mind and body are broken, and she will have to fight to heal and survive her trauma. Scar helps her heal, and there are truly 2 damaged souls coming together. They had some emotional and spicy love scenes where they heal together.
This is a dark and emotional read. Please make sure to check triggers.

I have loved Scar from the very 1st book in the series and I am so happy that he finally got his own book! This was a story about how true love can really conquer all. Reading this book about Scar’s Origins story and how he came to be was totally heart breaking. From a little kid all he wanted to do was be loved and protect the women he loved most in his life. Starting with his sister and then later with Irina. Most of the book my heart broke for him. What he had to do to do survive such horrible conditions. And I mean Irina what a baddie! After all the horrible things she suffered after being kidnapped my heart broke for her. I was literally bawling my eyes out at the staircase scene. But she rose for the ashes just like a phoenix being a stronger women at the end of the day. Scar and Irina finally recognized that they are both a little messed up, but they can conquer anything together. I felt like the betrayal was a little predictable but other than that this book was AMAZING! I recommend this series to anyone looking for spicy mafia!

More of the Bellandi’s
I have been waiting for Scars story since book 1.
This was the perfect expansion/connection to other characters we’ve seen and gives us glimpses of those other story lines and interactions without taking from the main story.
I enjoyed the story development and layers (along with the CORRECT depiction of BPD) 5 stars for me.

Scar did not live a white-picket fence childhood. It was filled with trauma: neglect, drug use and s*xual abuse. While he clawed his way out of the depths of despair, he never truly healed from his past. The scars on his body went more than skin deep. He continues to carry these scars for several years.
Irina led a tumultuous childhood as well. Riddled with mental health and abandonment issues, she led a semblance of a normal adulthood. But, deep down, she also carries the same scars that Scar does; both physically and emotionally. Irina’s pieces are slapped together with medication, therapy and a little bit of denial. A whole that still has so many cracks and crevices.
When Scar meets Irina, he is instantly drawn to her. But his dark demons would never let him be truly happy with anyone; feeling as though he could not sully her with his inner filth, he constantly pulls away. Irina feels the same attraction but, with the constant push and pull game, it feeds into her insecurities. Due to this, she tries to ignore/deny her allure to him.
Then something happens to Irina and all the pieces that were tenuously held together are completely shattered. Scar is determined to try to put her back together while trying to keep himself at a safe distance. However, in order to truly help Irina, it requires Scar to give all or nothing.
Can two broken people make a whole? I feel that they are secretly drawn to each other because only they soothe each other’s inner demons. My favorite analogy in this book is when Scar tells Irina that their torn edges fit perfectly together.
Scarred Regrets is one of my favorite books of the Bellandi Crime Syndicate series. It is also one of the hardest ones of the series for me to read. I cried non-stop from 40-64% of the book…and then several times after. Even while typing up this review and remembering parts of this book brings tears to my eyes. All of the nasty, dark, nitty-gritty is put into this book. As a reader, you experience the broken along side Irina so you can truly understand the healing process that takes place. Adelaide breaks you down and then slaps you back together, piece by piece. Is it a difficult and heart-wrenching book to read? Yes! You will most likely have your heart broken several times. But Irina and Scar’s journey and subsequent “happily ever after” is worth it 1000x over.
