What can I say other than wow, wow and wow. I have enjoyed all the Flavia books, but this has certainly been the most intense so far! Now that you really know all the characters, the author is starting to drop bombshells that leave your pulse racing, and your eyes full of tears. A truly spectacular book. I would rate it ten stars if I could!

One of my favorites yet - I just love Flavia and her penchant for poisons. Organists, ether, lead poisoning, leprosy and a shock in the very last line!
