After both going viral for their respective breakups, best friends June and Levi decide to fake date. Out of the deal, June gets publicity for her struggling tea shop, and Levi is hoping to get his ex fiancé to get back together with him. Along the way, their unresolved feelings from high school come back to life

For how ridiculous the premise is, this is a surprisingly cute love story. Both the FMC and MMC are likeable, though my favorite character is June’s best friend.

I enjoyed seeing them process their grief over June’s sister’s death together

This was a cute romance. Emma's books are usually cute beach reads and this one is like the others. The difference this one is more adult and steamier. I didn't find such great chemistry between the 2 MC's so it was hard for me to be invested in the book. There was also a lot of back and forth with the 2 MC's as well.

Thanks to Net Galley for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review as always, all word are my own.

This book had a lot of heart and started off really strong, but for me it fell off the rails a bit by the halfway mark. There was a lot of unnecessary drama centred around miscommunication and missed opportunities for communications and while I enjoyed where it ended up, it felt like the last third of the plot was told through June's jumbled thoughts rather than shown by the story. And as a small thing, I was disappointed not to see anything from Dylan and Mateo's wedding. All that said, this was a fun premise and built around a great friendship.
