Its been at least 3 weeks since I've read this and I'm still emotional distraught.

I loved the characters and their relationship. The way everything was presented and unraveled, the world. Oh my god. I love it. Its beautiful, and in my opinion, perfect.

READ IT!

This book has the feels of a good heist movie, but for some reason I don't vibe with it. Might try again later.

Very impressive world building, excellent dialogue and great characters. The plot is a bit over the top at times, but it's rescued by the characters.

It's been a while since I've read a longer book or a fantasy and this book was a great read for me to get back into it! It's strengths definitely lie in good pacing and a well crafted plot which kept me with the feeling of wanting to come back and finish it. I loved the scheming elements and thought that the interludes at the end of each section really helped to give context for both the world and characters without interrupting the main story. Even though this book is part of a series, you can definitely read it as a stand alone, so if you're like me and wanting to try get into fantasy again Lies of Locke Lamora is a low pressure and fun starting point. I only didn't give it 5 stars because it wasn't something that I got fully invested in personally. But if you love a bit of backstabbing and trickery amidst a creative city setting then I would definitely recommend!
