Okay, so I guess the title is accurate, being the first book that is not "Anne ___". It truly is just about a bunch of people who live in Rainbow Valley. lol It was....fine. I am very glad I was listening because I probably enjoyed it at least a little better since I could multitask. But Anne really takes a backseat and this is also a fairly long book. If it was even 70% of the length, it would have been better. But I was really pretty done with it by about 75% mark. The kids are cute and all, and I'm happy that the minister and his family get a happy ending, but meh. I miss Anne

The focus leaves Anne, and moves to her young children and their friends, the minister's family, following each of their stories. Cute, but I think I liked Anne better than her children.

This is adorable. I felt it was written for an older audience but still included all the childhood charm and detail as previous books. There's romance, mischief and a lot of opinionated churchgoers.
