Everyone should read this book. It's very short chapters, alternately written by Ben and Laura. Laura is the founder of the Street Library, a mobile bookmobile in Portland, OR that serves primarily the unsheltered population with books. Ben holds the record for most books checked out of the Street library in a year, and a very loyal patron who becomes a volunteer and staff member with the library. Together, they explore what it means to be compassionate to other people, what it means to exist in our society, and how we create community together - through all the challenges and joys. Truly a poignant and uplifting book.

*To be clear, the low rating is for the book, NOT Street Books as an organization or concept. I think what these folks are doing is awesome!*

I found this book to be slow, boring, and disorganized, which is a shame because the concept seems so cool.
