Don't get me wrong. This book is amazing and super well written. But the topics of the story were just too dark and disturbing for me to finish the book.

This is the best distopia I have ever read!!
PLEASE READ THIS, here’s a few reasons;
•Hunger games but feminist but also •stand alone and no love triangle or technology
•Enemies to lovers but not quite
•Friends to lovers but not quite
•Silent revolution
•Bring down the patriarchy
•Really strong and badass main character
• amazing plot twist
• every woman has an amazing power within themselves
• beautiful family bond
• low-key lgbtqia+ representative (with phobia so beware)
• so well written
• really empowering
• Almost none named male characters
• “trust no one, not even yourself”

An excellent, fast-paced dystopian thriller. This was enjoyed by my entire adult book club so don’t let the YA marketing throw you off.  It harkens back to a lot of my favourites: Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Only Ever Yours by Louise ONeill, Our Endless Numbered Days by Claire Fuller, and Women Talking by Miriam Toews. Highly recommend!
