If you have read This is Going To Hurt, this is basically the festive parts that were not included in the original book. In true Adam Kay style, it’s funny, heartwarming, and heartbreaking. He does give a disclaimer at one point that you may want to skip a few pages - I didn’t and I cried like a baby.

This book isn’t very long and you can read it in one sitting which I did. As with the first book there at little medical explanations at the bottom - perfect for us normal people who have no idea what doctors are going on about! And it is filled with Christmas hilarity.

Is this as good as This Is Going To Hurt? Not really - I think there’s a reason why some of these didn’t make the original cut but it’s still a really good 4 star read! Definitely one for the Christmas list - I gifted it to two people last year.

Not as good as Adam Kay's first book 'This Is Going To Hurt' as it didn't have the same linear fashion and didn't contain the powerful ending message about the strain on public health systems, but still a beautiful lighthearted and enjoyable read.
