OK I've read every book in this series and side series. I absolutely love this series and the characters. I wasn't sure how I would feel about reading basically the same book just in Bones perspective but now I need all the books in the others perspective. this includes all the side series. I can not wait to see what comes next.

I really love that J Frost is doing Bones POV because I don’t know how badly I needed it until I’m reading about all the sneaky shit he did that Cat doesn’t even know about!!! Also, seeing how much he truly loves his Kitten 😭 Bones has always been top tier for me

As soon as I saw this book, I had to read it! Set in the Night Huntress world, and told from Bones' point of view, this was a nostalgic experience of a series that I am highly fond of and would recommend to anyone interested in picking up a paranormal romance-this series is the perfect place to begin!

The absolute highlight and delight of this book is the cast of characters. Of course, we get to see Cat and Bones and their complicated relationship. Watching the angst, pining, and love from Bones' point of view expands-and acts as a salve- upon events that happened in the books from Cat's point of view. Viewing events and interactions through Bones' perspective makes a huge difference in rounding out his motives, and adds to the explosiveness that is Cat and Bones when they are together- how he loves Cat is a beautiful thing and on bright display in this book.

What I also love so much about this series is how involved the secondary characters are in this universe. In my opinion, the secondary characters make this world so much more dynamic and fleshed out. The interplay between everyone gives you that found family vibe as well as having more at stake when it comes to fighting their foes-it also makes for some fun banter and interactions that further flesh out Bones and Cat's characters.

Overall, this book had me glued to the page in some key moments, and the tension, drama, and humor, were incredibly entertaining and gave new breath to an old favorite.

If you have not read the books in this series, this story will have spoilers and feel as if you stepped into the middle of a conversation without any context, so I highly recommend starting at the beginning of the series.

WE GET CHAPTER 32 FROM BONES'S PERSPECTIVE!

Ahem. And now for the actual review...

I'm happy to report that, even after a decade since they first appeared, Cat and Bones remain the best couple in a paranormal romance! Their love and the sacrifices they make for each other continue to be the standard which every other couple must compete against.

"Love is the one thing that transcends time." Oh Bones, how I've missed you! I reread the entire Night Huntress series last year and jumped at the chance to read this book. Reading about Bones and Randy meeting, what went through his head while he was searching for Cat, and his arrogance/ignorance when it came to Annette was just as juicy as expected. (And thank you, Jeaniene Frost, for showing an abridged version of their tryst! My heart couldn't have taken an extended one.)

One of my favorite parts of this series has always been the mystery behind Bones and his brilliant brain. Experiencing the romance through Cat's eyes let us feel what it was like to have this centuries old Lothario dedicate his life to the one woman he ever loved. I was concerned some of that magic would be lost when seeing it through a different set of eyes, but it was just as touching as the original!

If you've never read the original series, you'll be able to jump in with Both Feet in the Grave without missing a beat. I highly suggest a tandem reading once you've read both so you can fully immerse yourself in the story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

"Time has no dominion over love. Love is the one thing that transcends time."

No substitute for the original book but still fun. Both Feet in the Grave doesn't really deliver what the experience I would want reading Bones's POV.  Sure, I enjoyed it, but that's because I love One Foot in the Grave.

Bones's recollections did give me a lot more compassion for Annette. I didn't appreciate before how emotionally intense their relationship was, it was kind of devastating. I almost want to read that story; it made me sad it didn't work out for them. At the very least, this book fleshed out Annette more than just being "the other woman."

Not to mention, Bones and Justina's hostile interactions were absolutely hilarious.

Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, but I actually didn't like the expanded love scene! That was one of my favorite scenes in OFITG and honestly it was better in my head/just from Cat's description. I kind of wish I hadn't read this version.

Like The Other Half of the Grave, Both Feet in the Grave is fine. It stays true to the characters, is faithful to its Night Huntress counterpart, doesn't disgrace the series. However, as I said about TOHOTG, BFITG is nonessential; it adds nothing new. I don't think I will read on in the series, because if I wanted to reread the Night Huntress novels I would do just that.

I am in physical need for the other books from Bones POV. And I mean I might die if I don't get them. Seriously.
