This is a good story but the way the dialogue is written is infuriating. I really loved Jake's character (and Jet obviously). I would have enjoyed this much more if I was a teen but some of it was a bit too cliche.

Such a fantastic read! The plot is gripping, the adventure is big. The stakes are high and the pace is tight. Along with all of that is a main character and his dog that you love from the start, a motley gang of kids on the run (small niggle, if only Cass had been better developed), and a govt conspiracy based on the direction so many govts are headed that it made this a slightly tougher read for me as an adult than it would likely be for its target audience.
There are a couple of grisly scenes but can easily be skimmed if the reader is squeamish.
Must have for any school library.

I really couldn’t finish this book. Almost halfway through and it felt like nothing had happened. It really dragged on and I couldn’t be bothered to keep track of what happened, as it all seemed the same. I didn’t care about the characters either, I only really liked the dog..
The cover was beautiful though, but that’s about it.

This was sitting at a 4 stars the whole way through and then i CRIED, actual SOBBING TEARS, THREE (3) times at the end so I guess it has to be 5 now.
