This was a really fun book. I think it’s time we bring back vampires.

Started this as an audio book but had a hard time keeping up with the characters (to no fault of the audio book, I just think I had a hard time concentrating). I ended up switching over to my physical copy and flying through this one. THAT ENDING. I audibly said "oh s**t" during those last few pages. I wasn't sure how this would lead into a second book until I finished it. I'm hoping to write a full review of this soon!

So good! The first few chapters were a little difficult for me to be pulled into just because it’s a lot of world building. But wow! I’m obsessed!

Narrator is...questionable, and hearing the LI described as a boy made me feel both old and gross

this was underwhelming. the main thing that bothered me was that everything happened too quickly, the story, the relationships building between characters, and it felt confusing. we got more info/world building in the excerpt of the next book at the end. it’s probably a choice by the author, but it was not for me. and yet, somehow, at the same time, it felt like nothing important was happening?
