I've been a fan of the Sidekick Squad since the first book, so getting to read this third part was exciting!

Following Emma this time, the book focuses mainly on her relationship with Bells and not having powers and being in the Squad/Resistance. I appreciate having a book with an ace protagonist, I think it was great how they dealt with it and how Emma questions it. It's amazing, and I'm glad this book exists because it's a much needed thing.

I didn't get into the story as much as with the first one, I felt like it was all the same except for a part where Emma travels north (really loved that part!) but the rest... going around the same thing.

Still, I can't wait to know how this series is going to end. I can't wait for Abby's!

ARC given in exchange for an honest review.

NOT YOUR BACKUP is another great addition to this series, and I absolutely loved the questioning and aroace rep!

Oh wow. This is my favorite book in the Sidekick Squad series so far.

This book focuses more on Emma, a true leader but also the only one of her friendgroup without powers.

In the resistance, she feels useless. She feels like no one takes her serious, she doesn't get credit for her plans, everyone is training since they're all metas but she's not. She's trying to figure out a way to be useful anyway all at the same time while she's exploring her Aro/ace identity and what it could mean for her relationship with her best friend Bells.

Honestly, Emma was already my favorite character, especially after the Aro/ace reveal at the end of the second book. In this book we get to know more about her and about her two moms.

The story is actually not that predictable like the previous two books. I was surprised a lot of times which is a good thing.

The Aro/ace representation is AMAZING and so relatable! It was so well explained, so well done. This is the first book with an Aro/ace character that I read that talks about Queerplatonic relationships.

Overall, such a great book. I'm so excited for Abby's book! (but I'm also not excited cause that'll be the last book and I'm not sure if I can say goodbye to these characters)
