Longing to Hold is a detailed account of Seth and Laura's life after her father died. It shows us how their young love first blossomed in that neighbourhood, ten years before the incidents of the first book. The story has been there in the other books, peppered throughout, but reading it like this here was a wonderful experience. It was strange though, a good kind, because we know what actually transpired all those years ago that led to Seth behaving protectively towards Laura. In four short chapters, Winters sprinkles her magic and announces the [b:Hard to Love|52327559|Hard to Love (Hard to Love #1)|W. i’m not going to rate this because it’s a prelude and i haven’t read the rest of the series

as the first book i read in the series though, it would get a one star. literally nothing happened. they teased a lot of things but never gave any clues to what it was and i just felt like what was the point? maybe i would feel differently if i read this after the series when i already know the characters but as i have no connection to them rn this felt like a waste of my time.

i also wasn’t a fan of the writing but i’ll try more of willow winters’ books because such a short read isn’t a fair chance

So in Love

This was such a wonderful prelude to Seth and Laura’s story. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

This book is a beautiful introduction to what has become my favorite couple. You get to know Seth and Laura in a more beautiful way and see how they came to be. In typical Willow fashion, she leaves you speechless with her words. Definitely one to dive into to understand the backstory that has lead to the chaos and love that we get later in the series.

Don’t sleep on this one!

SETH & LAURA, PRELUDE TO THEIR HEART AND SOUL GRIPPING STORY.

This prelude was such a welcome surprise to the Hard To Love series, Seth and Laura’s story grips my heart in ways that I can’t fully describe. There’s a sweetness amidst the chaos and violence that surrounds their lives.
Longing To Hold is the perfect introduction to their all consuming story.
Again, Willow Winters writes with her heart and every emotion can be felt through her words. Her characters pulse to life and there is a special something about this story that is so raw and beautiful.
5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This prelude shows you exactly where Seth and Laura's journey begins. It short but so powerful. Seth knew, from the very beginning, that nothing would stop him from having Laura.

The question is, could anything stop him from keeping her?

I can't wait for the series to conclude to find out the answer.
