Het hele opzet, een schriftelijk verslag over een filmverslag over een nooit gevoerd gesprek, was uiteindelijk wat te zeer aanwezig. Voor mij. Maar zeker goed genoeg om uit te lezen.

Very interesting story, though the timline gets a tad confusing at times. For a book that keeps on mentioning how importatnt details are, the character introductions feel a little superficial and make it hard to really empathaize in the beginning, though the books picks itself up towards the end. Dialog and flashback sceens are very beatifully written, the rest somtimes drags on a bit.
Graphic: Grief, Abandonment, Confinement, Antisemitism, Death, Hate crime, Suicide, Death of parent, Violence, Genocide, War, and Torture
Moderate: Sexism, Murder, Alcohol, Racial slurs, Racism, Deportation, and Emotional abuse

3.5 stars. A book that grows on you, but drags somewhat in the middle.
