Moves too slowly.  It was hard to follow at first.  The author spent too long building the plot.

I loved this book. It's definitely one of the best books I read in the last few months. A cute read.

Because Gist coauthors this book, it's written a little differently from her others. It has a faster pace, more action, and less history. It sucked me right in from the beginning, and I couldn't put it down for long.

I loved this book! It is an awesome mix of romance, mystery, and great characters. I love the name of the main character-Rylee. This story is set in Charleston and is about a lady dog walker who works for people that keep getting robbed. The police consider her the prime suspect but a news reporter named Logan is sure she's innocent and someone worth getting to know. The mystery keeps you guessing and the romance is sweet with outgoing corny. Perfect book for me!

Honestly? I thought it was boring.
I feel like the collaboration probably took away from each author's respective talents, not that I know anything about Mark Bertrand. The romance was meh and the mystery/thrill was not intriguing. I was kind of excited about the prospect of a mystery-type Deeanne Gist novel, but it was a disappointment.

Plus, I laugh out loud out at some of the things that are supposed to be... sexy, if you will.
"His muscles had mouth watering definition. Thighs that bulged, and serious biceps."
She thinks he's a criminal, and her dog has just run him up a monument, and she's ogling his mouth watering bulging thighs? Weird.

I checked this one out of the library, and it took me quite a while to read it. Not because it wasn't a good book, it was, but because I'm having such a hard time reading with this tinnitus. I really enjoyed the book, it was a good mix of mystery and romance, all set in Charleston South Carolina. The main character, Rylee, is a dog walker in the historic Charleston area, and is suspected in a rash of odd "Robin Hood" like burglaries occurring at several of the houses where she has "pet" clients. Enter local newspaper reporter Logan, who happens to be good looking and attracted to Rylee and you have a good setup for the book :)

This is a cute mystery/romance about a dog walker whose clients end up being robbed, but just one item is stolen and not the most expensive thing the thief could take. It's up to Rylee the dog walker and a cute reporter named Logan to figure it out. This is a Christian romance/mystery so there are religious references throughout. I must say that the religious references came off a little preachy at times and not natural. I think that the authors could have weaved faith into the story in a more subtle way. There's one part of the story where Logan goes to visit his parents and literally the first question is "why haven't you been to church?" It came off as really awkward. Christian romance/mysteries can be really off putting if they come off as holier than thou. That said, the story was interesting, although somewhat predictable. This is one of those books that you can read if you don't mind religious references and are just looking for a fluffy mystery with some romance thrown in.

I liked it, but not at much as her historical stuff.

Just FYI for Deanne Gist fans—this isn’t anything like her other works and doesn’t have the humorous situations. Was only going to give it 3 stars but it just ended so well!!

Too clumsily and overtly "Christian" for my taste
