Bit unsure how to rate this, since it wasn’t bad and it wasn’t good. Didn’t find it that funny and it gave more crack!fic vibes than anything. The characters were annoying, and not very well hashed-out. The story was fun to read, though, but it did take a while to pick up. Also for gods who’ve been around forever, some of them really haven’t integrated well into modern society. Apollo mentioning rape that casually was a big no for me. A fun quick read if you want some modern Greek gods living in London!

SUCH A GOOD BOOK
Its so funny and I love the concept that Marie Phillips decided to base the book on. The gods are just as you expect them to be in the modern world and there are little surprises. Mainly follows Apollo and Artemis as the main gods which I love bc they've been my favourite since I first discovered my love for Greek mythology- yes Apollo is still as awful as he is when it comes to relationships in the traditional myths (Aphrodite doesn't play a major role to the plot but I love her and she's very present. Probably the third main god paid attention to which is nice for a change)
The ending is very short but I was more interested in the gods just doing human stuff so I wasn't so bothered about that

he best part of the book is the relationship between the two mortals; Phillips knows how to write love, but the rest falls a little flat imo. Her style of humor does match Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman’s “Good Omens” (I wonder if it’s a British trait or not), so if you enjoy that style, I would recommend this one! I still enjoyed the plot and the twist :)

Most of the book is their simple lives. The biggest conflict isn't introduced until waaay later, after the middle of the book. Super entertaining and loveable characters though!!!
