An innovative approach to leveling up your life. The author used his passion for video games and story to create a better life for himself and those he inspires through his Nerd Fitness platform. I found the approach engaging.

This book changed my life!
About 40% into this book, I went onto Nerd Fitness and joined the academy. The day after, I went to the grocery store and bought some food to begin my new lifestyle. If anyone is struggling with exercising or just wanting to achieve your goals, please check out this book. If not, at least go on to the Nerd Fitness website and read some information. You won't regret it!

One year and half ago, I suscribed to the Nerd Fitness Academy and followed the path proposed on the website. This led me to some dramatical changes in my life helping me to improve myself, my health and mind. One year later I bought this book but postponed its reading, as I was going through some personal stuffs. One month ago I've made what the Academy call a "respawn" and decided to take everything back to zero. This book helped me get things back on track but with a greater view, by seeing things ahead, on a higher level than what I had done in the past, helping me setting real goals I wanted to achieve and hard-based steps that I have to follow to reach them. At the moment I cannot tell if I'll reach them, but based on my experience in the last days and month, the goals in my mind are way clearer and stronger than ever before, thanks to this book :)

Steve's new book is freaggin' awesome! For a non-fiction, personal growth book, I could not put it down, when I tend to drag my feet through most of them.
This book is not a collection of blog posts from his website, but a streamlined philosophy on how to get the most out of life. With honesty and good (and sometimes goofy, but in a good way) humor, Steve presents you with everything you need in order to gamify your life. He has written THE strategy guide for the Game of Life, and you would be remiss if you didn't give it a fair chance. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those of the nerd and misfit culture, who is looking to get more out of their life.

How can pop psychology bull be so entertaining and inspiring. This entire book is a thinly veiled advertisement for the author's gamification website, "Nerd Fitness." It's filled with anecdotes rather than data, and it relies heavily on the sort of Malcolm Gladwell-esque "insights" that often parade as profound these days. That said, I finished this book and wanted to get off the couch more, travel, switch jobs, and generally take the world by the horns. I was impressed by how much the author really believes in his own schtick, and...I did, briefly, sign up for an account on Nerd Fitness (before realizing it was oriented toward people with far less experience than me). So, well played Steve Kamb...well played.

Too many corny references, and a lot of the book is focused on exercise and diet. These are great concepts, and things we should all be working on, but I didn't want to read a book on that. I hadn't heard of Nerd Fitness prior to reading this, and I'll be honest - the author started losing me at the mention of the Paleo diet. The first third or even half isn't bad; I expected to get into some nitty gritty details in the second half, but instead I just read even more unnecessary video game, movie, TV, and music references. if you're a nerd, you know these already. You don't need a fellow "nerd" to describe them to you. Part of me feels I could have written this book, or at least parts of it.

An interesting take on becoming the person you dream of being instead of "going with the flow."
