I'm done with Jaz Parks. She's gotten less interesting the further she goes in her relationship with Vayl. And while the world may be internally consistent across the books (something I'm not at all sure of), the tendency to reference previous missions as if the reader knows everything the characters do (which might be the case if you read each book back to back instead of one every year or two) and for solutions to crises to appear with minimal explanations has gotten tiresome.

This book was overall a step in the right direction I believe. While Rardin still is not finishing any of these story lines up (as a matter of fact she's only complicated them- i.e. Cole), it felt more true to her original starting line. I am very interested in seeing how she is going to wrap all of this up in only one more book.

It kind of drives me crazy how Jennifer Rardin likes to jump you in the middle of a situation or relationship in her books. Usually she's nice and actually gives you descriptions of what has happened but I would really rather she had just started from the beginning. Sometimes that works in books but here it drives me up the wall.
But otherwise it was similar to previous books and was still entertaining. It was kind of sad too remembering the author's recent passing this year. I hear the last book in the series will still be published though and I'm looking forward to it.

GENRE: Urban Fantasy
THEME: Vampires/Magic
RECEIVED: Bought
AUTHOR: Jennifer Rardin

REVIEW:
The 7th book in the Jaz Park series wasn’t my favorite but still had its kick butt action, Jazs’ sarcastic and tough girl appeal, Vayl being his charming self, and the rest of the crew dealing with the craziness that always surrounds them. I’ve been with this series since the beginning, of course, but since there was only one more book left I waited a bit to read book 7 until 8 got closer. I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Jennifer Rardin and will forever cherish her books and her wonderful writing.

This time the gang is looking for an artifact in Morocco that will help get rid of the demons possessing Jaz. But the major problem with that is a curse has been placed on Vayl and his stuck in the past and being a real jerk.

From the beginning of being introduced to Cole I forever have enjoyed his awesome bickering and laugh out loud moments with Jaz. It was hard for me to get really into this book because Jaz was a bit on the mopey side with Vayl thinking she someone else

They also have to deal with the fact that a crazy female demon has her eyes on Cole. Making those three challenges to face in the book. Mostly due to the fact Cole and Jaz have a lot of scene time together, Coles feeling are shown more and more. Since he was introduced he has always had feelings for her, he such a great guy too so I was a sucker for him in this one.

I felt horrible for Jaz through most of the book, Vayl was of course not himself so she felt really alone. There were a lot of parts where she had inner conversations with her self that I wasn’t quite sure I liked, but it helped her get through the hard situations. I still love the tension and romance between Vayl and Jaz, their relationship will always be one of my favorites. Overall this was another great addition to the series and I can’t wait to read the final book!

RECOMMENDATION:
This is an adult book with kicking action and lots of fighting. Fans of Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampires series and Jennifer

Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one who gets totally confused and trying to keep up with what's happening in this series. I think I'm back to that place where I was when I started reading them; just confused and overwhelmed. Too many supernatural aspects and rules and not all of them were connected properly...

Bitten in Two picks up right where Bite Marks left off. Our team leaves Autralia and head Morocco in search of the Rocenz, the item that will help dispel Jaz's mind possessor Brude. Of course nothing goes as planned. Once they get to Morocco Vayl loses his memory and believes that he is living his life from 1777. Unlike Bite Marks I think this book handled the surprise situation well. In Bite Marks we are dealing with three situations and trying to deal with them all at the same time which made things a little messy. In Bitten in Two we deal with Vayl's predicament first and then we deal with the original mission.

Of course things don't always go as planned and our team has to learn to improvise a little. I don't know if the next (and last book) will continue with some of the story threads started in this book, but I hope so. There was an old enemy of Vayl's past that pops up, but isn't dealt with directly and I would like to see that come to a close. Sorry to say, but however close we came to getting Jaz's problem solved it is something that will have to be dealt with (hopefully) in the final installment.

All of our characters were together (minus Cassandra, who does make phone appearances) for this installatment and there are some changes that will have to be dealt with. I'm sad that the next book is the last book. I only hope that it wraps well. Until Then!
