This is the kind of book you need to read completely back-to-back to understand and correctly apply the method.

Value Proposition Design is basically the short and summary format of a business plan. It's easier to view at a high level, easier to spot, and easier to edit. Albeit not detailed,  Very good for agile companies or small entrepreneurs.

This book is very clear in diagrams and very complete in describing each boxes.

Note that this book is a technical guide book. You won't read any story, motivation, perspective, etc. You only read How to Do Value Proposition Design.

Quick to read the book.
Medium to understand the structure and guidance.
Slow to apply, or create your own VPD.

Very recommended.

Following the Business Model Canvas process described in earlier strategyzer works, Value proposition design double clicks on the value added by a new venture. The authors explore the feasibility of hypotheses and how value can be designed, focused, and captured for the benefit of customer and business.

There are gems in Value Proposition Design. The principles of canvas, design, test, and evolve are clear. There are step by step instructions for completing the canvas, collecting customer insights, testing, and launching. Buy it to keep as a reference book for iterating within a current business and creating new ones. Sign up for the Strategyzer account for the free downloads. To be a workbook style text, I did find it wordier on the sentence level than I would have anticipated, but nonetheless, it’s a well-designed the lean start up segment on how to design a business with customers at the core.

I read this book for a class/starting a business. I think the concepts in the book will be useful, and I really liked the resources available at strategyzer.com.

This is absolutely a must read for those starting their first business. The book is full of practical tools meant to equip the reader for success in whatever industry they choose.

I believe that the book’s introduction to validated learning, or better yet the exposure to the mindset of it all, can aid in shifting perspective from a fantasy adventure to more of a mission based approach to entrepreneurship.

Bottomline? If you want to invent and improve value propositions this is the book to get.

A great follow-up to Business Model Generation. The author/publishing team really turned up their game to produce such a well laid-out, beautifully illustrated, and informative book. Content-wise, I found this book to be so helpful in getting to the heart of what a business needs to be and understand in order to survive and thrive.

Good book on creating a value proposition design. It provides a great framework to find the right value proposition and finding the right product/market fit. It's great as a primer and provides more detail than the Lean Startup of which it has stolen all of its ideas about value propositions.
I really liked that you can grab all of the charts, graphs, and cheatsheets from the website although you'll have to provide them your email address to do so.
