Another good story by Vi Keeland.
The beginning was boring me a little, maybe because I'm not a fan of stories where the main characters jobs are office jobs? I don't know why. It's not always the case, but sometimes it makes the story a little dull for me.

However, things started to look up, when this was a "fighting for the one you love" kind of story. Of course we had some comments from Gray that could have been left out, but most of his actions were noble and that of a man in love. But, there is this plot point further down the book that I wasn't expecting that I wasn't in the mood for per say, but it fit with the story and everything ended the way it was supposed to.

Great second chance romance. Gray, the Hero, is totally swoon worthy. He has the air of a cocky, arrogant bastard but with a heart of gold. He's made many selfless sacrifices for other people in his life, and its time for him to get rewarded. And that reward? The women he fell in love with, but screwed up and lost her. It's time to get her back... but it won't be easy. Layla, the Heroine, is smart and strong and can hold her own. Both Gray and Layla had messed up childhoods that altered their way of thinking of love and relationships, and this causes them to doubt things. They have to battle that demon as well as the others that come along. Both characters are well rounded and are believable, as are the side characters. Each has a purpose with the story. It's well written and you can feel their emotions, feel their hurt, and joy. There is a surprise twist to keep you on your toes. ;) It's easy to read. Hard to put down. The story flows smoothly. There is some sexual content. It alternates between the two POVs.

Gray is going to make you question everything you thought about taking a second chance on love just like he did with Layla.

He will intrigue you, make you swoon, make you feel like you are the only one in the universe, worship you, fill your sexual desires and break your heart all while fall mad in love with him.

This book was an electrifying ride filled with tons of emotions.

Loved the storyline, characters and the premise of giving love a second chance.

A Must Read!

Ugh. Vi Keeland is always so hit or miss with me. TNT was a definite miss. It was just boring.

This story was fun and exciting and a very different take on romance. I can say that I have read a whole bunch of second chance romances, but this was nothing like any of them.

Layla and Gray met a few years ago at a correctional facility where she was teaching a class and Gray was serving a sentence for a crime he did not commit. A misunderstanding, that could have been easily avoided with communication, leads to them parting ways and Layla hoping to never see Gray again. To her surprise, when Gray was released from prison, he hires Layla’s firm to help him. From that moment on, Gray is determined to win back the one who got away. There was a bunch of going back and forth and uncertainty in their relationship. It takes a lot to regain trust so they have to work through those feelings. And a huge surprise also threatens their relationship.

Sebastian and Andi nailed their performances of our main characters. They brought these characters to life and were very enjoyable to listen to.

I'm way too tired to write a proper review but I have issues with this book.
It was good, I couldn't stop reading but can we stop writing men who make decisions for women because "they know better" and then make it look cute cause they care? How about we promote and encourage healthy communication?

The tension between Layla and Grey was insane! I like that there wasn't any cheating. The plot took an unexpected direction, but it was a bit pushed. I felt like every plot twist was crammed into one book and it wasn't necessary.

Finally finished this one. It got better once Gray stopped being such an obnoxious jerk.
