A totally epic conclusion to the story, full of twists and surprises. Fie grew so much as a character and I loved the symmetry of the Money Dance at the palace gates.
As I said in the review of the first book, the universe was everything. I wish I could dive in more!

Alright, so the main reason this isn't 5 stars is because of one major plot point that drove me absolutely INSANE (negative).
Spoiler YOU'RE TELLING ME. THAT FIE DIDN'T SPEND ONE GODDAMN SECOND. THINKING TAVIN WAS LYING??????? OR HAD SOME PLAN?????? SHE REALLY THOUGHT HE'D BETRAYED HER?????? That shit went on for TWO FUCKING LONG and it was STUPID GAWD I saw it from a mile away. It was so bad that at first I thought I'd missed something and had to go back and reread certain chapters because where the fuck was the logic here.
And then, conveniently, Khoda and Tavin were "working together" ?????? Could we not have hinted at that sooner?????
I absolutely was here for a 'Tavin betrays Fie' plot, but it was not set up well. At all. It was just infuriating whenever they interacted while he was playing 'bad guy' bc it was so obvious he knew who she was when she was disguised.
My only other complaint is that the last couple chapters felt too rushed. This series would have benefited from being a trilogy, imo!
HOWEVER, it's still such a great story and I adore the worldbuilding. I adore Fie and Tavin's romance, I love Jasimir, I love the side characters. I do think book 1 was stronger, but this sequel was pretty well done for the time constraints it had.

I don't what is wrong with me and the author's books. I don't like the beginning as writing or as a story then I start to like it. I will be honest this time, I liked it faster but was skipping some of the descriptions and the scenery.
Although this was the same world of the crows, I was grossed out in this book not the first one. We had a little more gross scenes here but not enough to deter me away.
What I liked the most here was again the characters. I loved the growing character arc of Jas. He was thoughtful and intelligent.
- Him asking about Pa first when he saw Fie.
- Still caring about his brother even he thought he betrayed him
- How he helped Fie even when he got Khoda crazy =D
. To return to our hawk, I still love him as in the first book and I liked how the author progressed his character. .
I liked the bits of subtle humor here and there.And for another side note, I lovved all the cats ♥.
I like how the romance ended. Also, the situations we got from Draga. The only thing was I needed more Tavin and Jas.

4.5 stars! This was a great sequel to the Merciful Crows. Laughed, cried, and audibly gasped during lunch at work. Some plot twists were easy to see through but it didn’t take away from the story at all. Ending was good, so wish there was an epilogue though.
