I decided to read this book on a whim. I was stuck in a vicious loop of doing nothing. I wanted my life to change, I wanted to be better, to be more productive, but I wasn't really doing anything to change my current state. This was recommended by many people, so I decided to give it a go, and I'm really glad I did.

This book exceeded my initial expectations. Instead of containing rehashed motivational talks, it actually has practical advice that you canĀ  implement your in life. There was some advice that seemed common sense, but I had never thought of it from that viewpoint before. Atomic Habits is an insightful read for anyone looking to commit to good habits and eliminate harmful habits.

Through reading this book, I was able to realize that I was approaching things wrong way (focusing on achieving goals rather than fixing my system). It brought into light the fact that I am simply in motion, not in action.

In short, this book really helped me in getting me out of that loop of repeating bad habits. I am now equipped with knowledge I can apply to ensure that I follow through with my plan. For that, this book deserves 5 stars from me.

This wasn't bad, which is pretty surprising.

It has clear, concise advice. I appreciate that. I don't know if they are applicable, but they seem simple enough to try.

The bits about how you see yourself are very good. I actually really believe that how you view yourself directly affects how you are.

This was actually a really useful self-help book and I totally understand the hype.

I don't read self help, I don't do programs. But there is a lot of smart stuff in this book - not revolutionary, but things and steps put together in a way, that actually help lift the fog around our habits. It takes away a bit of myth around "successful" people. Around what success means. How much of it you implement is up to you, because implementing habits or an environment for new habits itself are - habits.
