This was fine. I'm already familiar with the YNAB method so there was very little new information for me, but I read it because I needed to get my brain centered around budgeting so I could focus. There were good real life examples and experiences that helped to illustrate Jesse's points. This would be a good introduction for someone unfamiliar with YNAB or budgeting in general.

An enlightening and interesting way to go about your personal finances. I just picked this up because it was the new years and it sounded like a good idea and I was very impressed. I had not been aware of Jesse Mecham, the founder of YNAB and the finance platform that went with it, but after I read this I joined a few Facebook groups so I could keep up on this. I haven't invested in the software yet, but I am definitely tempted. This plan sounds a lot more doable then a lot of other budget plans I've read. I'd describe it but I don't want to butcher it. Just check it out! It seems easy to use and follow and has great results!

This book convinced me to spend $80/year on an app. It can do anything.

I started using the YNAB software at the end of the year and devoured their YouTube content. As a result, I was very familiar with the 4 rules that dominate this book. However, the book did clarify some things for me and I'm glad I read it. Probably a 3.5 star read for me, but only because much of it I already knew so rounded up to 4.
