Patricia Higgsmith knows how to write a sociopath who you can sympathise with. The suspense is slowly building to its climax at the end and what an end it is.
Vic is intelligent and a book lover who is more fascinated by his snails than by his wife Melinda and her affairs. But under his calm lurk dark feelings...
"Deep Water" is a suspenseful, mysterious and sophisticated psychological thriller that is never dull. The relationship between Vic and Melinda is toxic and this novel is a precise deconstruction of their marriage. Loved it!
