Despite the fact that I really avoid chicky books with sisters and friendships, I seem to throw those dislikes out the window where Asian families in the United States are concerned, possibly because they had it as rough as any ethnic group back in the 50s 60s and 70s in this land we call "Home of the Free" ..
The girls were charming, the accents the younger one adopted ("Would ya'll like a soda?") was cute, and the ending was sad, but all in all a good read.

I don't think I was prepared for how melancholy this book was. It read like a classic, in how it was written as a coming-of-age novel.
It wasn't bad, I just never felt a connection. Audiobook was alright though

It was a great story about two sisters! but in the end, it was sad because Katie's sister had died and it was sad but her memory with her sister, she never forgot it...

The voice of this book is very juvenile but the story is complex.
