The book was very promising at the beginning and I loved the concept of a shared reading list.
However, it was not the right moment for me to read it. If you do not enjoy sad stories, this will probably not be a right fit.
Trigger warnings: grief, mental illness, suicide.

I loved this story about an unlikely friendship, grief, and of course, books. I loved how the community came together to support its members, and to save the library. Once I finished it, this was one that I absolutely turned to the beginning to read again.

The plot was boring, and the characters felt flat. Nothing pulled me in to the story, and I didn’t care about what happened to these characters. The multi-perspective story-telling was chaotic, and overall, it just stopped being worth my time.

3.5 stars. Lovely, warm story. A lot of hard bits. Great story on how books can help you escape, heal, and process trauma. I loved the main characters so much. Mukesh feels so dear to me. The only detractor of this book was that it wandered a bit in some random directions with characters and was a bit slow.

A little too weepy for me. But a sweet/sad story and a love letter to books.
