Older, but much of the advice is still relevant.

I noticed that the most recent review for this book is already 4 years old, which doesn't surprise me. Career advice books seem to have a lifespan of about 6 months before they're considered outdated.

Yes, this book mentions MySpace at least a dozen times, but no, it's not outdated. Not all of it anyway. I would say a good 65-75% of the information therein was not only still usable, but something I hadn't thought of before. I was forced to think deeper on the interviewing process itself, and I had lightbulb moments that I know will help me in my next interview. It has already helped me with my resume (something I already felt confident in).

My biggest 'soft' takeaways from here:
- If you aren't Googleable, you don't exist
- Networking is so much easier than I ever thought
- Being bold is easier than I thought

And my favorite lesson, one that I'd already started working on but now know how to tweak for better results: If you're passionate about something, talk about it. Write about it. Teach it. Become the expert. It gets you hired.

I checked this out from the library. Definitely worth the rental or a few bucks if you can find it for a good price (used).
