this is a fun MSW book. there was some surprising, weird humor (something like Cecil eating french fries). I love the concept that the characters have continued on after the TV series ended, with JB Fletcher moving back to Cabot Cove. it's really not quite the same as Angela Lansbury, but I wouldn't even expect it to be. I also enjoyed the little Halloween bits and the whimsy in the idea of everyone in Cabot Cove gossiping about ghosts (+ Mrs. Fletcher with an actual ghost).

I sort of had this one figured out early on (at least parts of it), but good ol' familiar Jessica Fletcher is always a comfort!

This was a nice, filmic book. In particular, the amount of time she spent in the library was definitely reminiscent of the show.

The Ghost and Mrs. Fletcher is a 2015 NAL publication.

This story will be a perfect addition for your Halloween reading pleasure. I really enjoyed reading about all those old books Cliff collected and how Jessica helped them find new homes. And of course a good ghost story is always fun, too.

DNF.

I made it about 2-3 chapters in before having to give up. Here's the thing: first person POV didn't work when it's referencing a well-established, 3rd person show narrative. It misses the nuance and the relationship building in setting up the atmosphere. I'm sad, too. I wanted to love the book, but no. Not even worth it to dig inside Cabot Cove.
