I don’t know. For me personally, the book was to short to really have a connection to the characters. The story was also kind of weird. I also feel like a lot of American authors do not really research the European settings and cultures. Ben is football star but could really play any sport based on the descriptions. At some point he scored two points. This is not tennis, it is football. In football you score goals. That is not really hard to research. Also the football club. Le Bleus? Really? The blues? Football clubs in Europe are not named like colors. Just look up any club in France. And the ending was just strange and felt like what might happen in the US at a baseball or American football game. But apart from that it was enjoyable.

this novella was short but intense. it is sexy but has a plot nonetheless. the characters are attaching and I’m really looking forward to reading ‘The Sinful King’. I loved seeing the aspect of royalty even though it wasn’t the most highlighted thing. I also love the way the book ended, and the fact that it hinted the other books in this series.

This was a fun addition to the series. It’s a novella so you can and should expect it to be shorter than you’re used to typically. I think because of this I felt like some parts we didn’t get enough detail in, like I especially wanted more time after the book ended if that makes sense. I wasn’t ready for it to be over when it was over. I do know there’s another book in the series coming soon though so I am hopeful I’ll get to see more Pilar and Ben there. Overall, I liked Pilar’s story. I did feel like she was just really young and not necessarily immature but just naive maybe? I think because of that, there was a part of me that couldn’t really connect as well with her as I did with Adeline for some reason. Plus, when you have a guy like Ben who clearly is smitten and you end things for the reason she did? I get it’s a huge commitment but if you really love someone you’ll figure out a way. Which she did in the long run I know, but I just kind of felt like that was some unnecessary angst they put themselves through. However, I still enjoyed the giddy feelings you get through reading the story and Ben and Pilar falling for each other. I loved Amir’s character. I loved getting to hear more about Addie and Eli. And this book definitely got me more excited for Aramis’ book... I can’t wait to read that one!!!

This was such a sweet and steamy novella. It didn't feel short like a lot of novellas do and I felt as if I got a complete story.

Pilar has never had a chance to really live. As a princess, she has always done what she's told, and behaves herself. She stays under the radar, and out of the press, until she finally goes out with her long time crush and famous footballer, Benjamin Drake.

I love Ben and Pilar so much. Watching them navigate their feelings was a pure joy and their chemistry is completely undeniable. They were able to overcome fears, insecurities, and were finally able to find their happily ever after.

I can't wait to get my hands on Aramis's story! It's sure to be a ride and I'm so excited to get on.

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

AT LAST, some sense of winning in this series. Don't get me wrong:
– I still had issues with the writing;

– The plot moved too fast

– The struggle to wrap my head around the concept of traveling in this world is still pretty much real

– I lowkey hated that the book started... you know... THE MORNING AFTER, considering Elias' book did NOTHING to introduce the new couple. I needed the author to set a scene on Pilar and Ben's dynamic. Were they friends? Kinda strangers who frequent the same events and kinda wanna bone? And about that night, did they plan to meetup, or did he find her drunk at an event and decide to take her home? GIVE ME A REASON FOR THEM TO END THE NIGHT TOGETHER!!!

– Is there too much to ask for more development in the feelings department? In book 1, Pilar admitted finding Ben hot. In this book, Ben admits to know about Pilar's long crush on him, but did he have feelings for her? You know, other than "I jUsT nEeD oNe NiGhT wItH hEr"???

– Also......... WHY THE HECK WAS THE WHOLE THING WITH KAYLA SO OVERLOOKED AT THE END??

Despite all the pointers above, as well as some farfetched elements of the story (like THE QUEEN casually being at the stadium), I enjoyed this book. I liked Pilar, and Ben turned out to be a nice guy too. Though despising the way the author excused cheating with grieving, I LOVED Ben and Tamara's dynamic. I appreciated how they, not only managed to stay friends, but also were so present in each other's daily lives, providing Asher with family unity, even though mom and dad were no longer together.

I also think this book made a better job at setting the tone for the next installment. There was the accident and the partying instead of resting that followed. Amaris' need to settle down and Joss' hard task to find someone suited for him. There was already banter between the two, and Pilar even called him out on his moodiness whenever Joss mentioned other men.
