Clear writing and examples. Covers a lot of ground but does it without overwhelming. This is a book I'll be referring back to for many years.

4.5, Amazing reference! Particularly helpful for beginners or those with a little experience but looking for a refresher. Definitely textbook style but it's broken up into easily understandable sections. Also offers lists of elements and styles that you can copy off to keep for reference. Some sections are confusing when they go into deep programming that beginners most likely won't use. Also some of the downloads online are incorrect, but still very good.

A bit dry at times but great introduction into front end web design.

This is a great book for beginners and also a good refresher for professionals. I particularly liked that it not only teaches HTML & CSS but also touches on the tools of the trade.
