Her most disarming collection yet.

Some were better than others. It I only really liked 2: the grape man and cinema of the confined. I didn’t have any real issue with the rest, I just couldn’t connect and found myself feeling pretty indifferent.

I appreciate Crosley’s humor in the context of stories that connect to some larger human emotion or experience. I laughed out loud at a number of these stories and appreciated how vulnerable she was in her last story “The Doctor Is A Woman”

Loved it. I lost track of how many times I belly-laughed!

The parts I read were quite funny.  But right now I am not in the mood for the level of snark.  I also don't want to read about swingers.

This is the first I’ve read from this author, and I loved it. The best essay in this collection is “The Doctor is a Woman,” which was published online in The Cut ahead of the book’s release, so maybe check that one out first. If you like it, you’ll like the rest.

Listened to the audio. She's mainly a good reader but not great, a little too flat and not varied enough, but good writer. Most were humorous but not funny, however there are laugh out loud moments.

Surprised at some of the lukewarm reviews I'm seeing here, particularly this bizarre notion that some of Crosley's details are "too perfect" (?), but I guess it's a good reminder not to outsource my own judgment to the Goodreads masses.
