I didn’t realize it was book 2, I don’t like the characters or writing enough to read book 1 first

I don't know how Brittney does it, but she seems to always out do herself with each book she puts out. Jesse and Ella were WOW. Jesse had me feeling all the emotions. You know he has been holding back from Ella Mae, but you never understood why. Especially when you could feel the emotions between them two in other books. I cried quite a bit, but also laughed and smiled. Ella is a strong character, and I love how Brittney does that, I love strong female leads. You felt all the ups and downs with the characters, and even had cameos by A.J., Chris and Rory. I love how she does that too.

"Because Jesse did more than break my heart. I think he broke me too. He broke so much of me," she cried. "And I'm just not sure if he can help me put the pieces back together."

"I've always known you were the one, Ella Mae. There's never been anyone but you," he said slowly. "You were with me in Iraq even though you didn't know it. I had your picture with me. Always. Yours was the first face I looked at when I woke and the last face I saw before going to sleep."

How can you not feel the emotion in that? I love these two, and am so happy to finally have read their book! You get the suspense, the mystery, and the action along with emotions and relationships. What more can you want?

this was good! i think i’m still trying to figure out the dynamics of this new team (with divorces and previous relationships i think things are getting a little confusing for me) but i was happy to see that ella and jesse finally get their story!

this was an intense story line with a lot of jesse’s secrets coming out but just like the other Sahin stories, I really enjoyed it!

Ella and Jesse's love story is one full of hurt, love, suspense, and never ending action. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot of this one.

Ella is stubborn, talented, and sassy. I love how she always bites back. Jesse is broody, growly, quiet, and a little bit broken. His childhood broke my heart. These two were the always meant to be couple. Everyone rooted for them from the beginning.

The suspense always had me on the edge of my seat just wondering what was going to happen next in their story. There were so many secrets and twists revealed in this one.

It is 3rd POV which I tend to not read because I love 1st POV especially dual. I didn't mind it in this one, and I don't think it took away from the story at all.

The epilogue was the perfect combination of sweet and spicy.

This is a me thing. I saw a TT with a line from the book and I thought it was going to more romance heavy. I think if you likes ex soldiers, life or death trouble, etc mixed in with your romance, this will be great. I tried to finish (the completist in me) but I realized I wasn’t enjoying it. The writing and story telling was fine.

It starts okay. Some parts were boring but then it picked up. The overall storyline was too much detail about the mission and became unrealistic for me.

As I’ve said with every other book written by Brittney, I’m left in awe and having an internal battle of where it goes in the rankings of my favorite books.

The plot picks up quick. It’s delicate and well written. The tension and build up with Jesse and Ella has your heart throbbing! Oh, & I can’t leave out the spice
