This was tonight's bedtime story for my little girl, Willow. She's only 4 months but there's nothing wrong with starting them off early, right? I thoroughly enjoyed reading it to her.

Revisiting a childhood favourite I used to read with Nini when I was little to close the year's reading challenge.

On one level this is a cute twee story about a little girl stumbling on a launderette run but a hedgehog, where the garments relate to qualities of the animals Lucie met.

But as an adult, its so bizarre, was BP high?! Lucie actually not that likeable, just rocks up to Mrs T's home, scares her and doesn't introduce herself instead she's like "Who are you?" Rude. And Mrs T is kinda nervous and subservient. I want Mrs T to be empowered!

So yeah, cute, weirder than I remembered, not the most empowering of stories.

Solid tip for people who keep losiytgeir handkerchiefs 🤷🦔
