Listening to an audiobook narrated by Richard Armitage is always a pleasure and this one was just that too.
Joy has such a way of creating a mystery that makes me keep thinking about it. The details and the emotion are stunning. Of course, Richard’s narration always makes the experience better

Audible version was really good. I love this author and have read most of her books. I liked Carter and was in his corner all the way. Looking back on this read, I must admit that it was a rather sad story that left me with a lump in my throat.

DS Carter McLean was on a plane with his four friends when it crashed - Carter was the only survivor. Eighteen months later he's back at work and itching to be involved in the Suzanne Holland case - she disappeared around the same time as the plane crash and blood was found in her cottage. The complication is that Suzanne was married to Carter's friend Tom who died in the plane crash. I thoroughly enjoyed this book - the story kept me gripped from the beginning and I certainly didn't foresee that ending. Will look for the other books in the Jackman and Evans series now.

Thanks to Joffe Books for the ARC in return for an honest review.
