A breath of fresh air! Voice and characters carry this light-hearted caper revolving around a stolen truckload of almonds. The sly "nut jokes" alone made it enjoyable. Chandler's style is totally her own, and she's a fine storyteller. Good imagination, quirky (to say the least) characters that aren't fake or stereotypical, spot-on dialogue, and a good sense of pacing.

If you're looking for a good escape read that tells a fun story and lifts your spirits, check out Bingo Barge Murder. I"m guessing the other books in the series are equally as enoyable.

This was unlike any cozy mystery I’ve ever read, the MC tended to get away with a little more than I’d like but overall and enjoyable read. MC and her awkward feelings towards a very attractive officer is just another thing I love about cozy mysteries. It was an unexpected treat.

Wow! All the suspense and action of a classic caper, but with the added bonus of a lesbian lead! This was a gripping story from start to finish, with truly unique characters. And a dog! What more could you want?

Oh boy. This was for my book club, and I didn't like it at ALL. Very much in need of the "show not tell" early writing advice. I'd like to think I like capers ok... but this was a very silly, very hard to get through the beginning of, book.

Who killed the sleazy owner of the Bingo Barge? How can Shay keep her friend Coop from being implicated? And what does a bunch of nuts have to do with it? This is a lighthearted caper (as lighthearted as you can get when murder's involved) that kept me thoroughly entertained. Since it's first in a series, I can't wait to read what comes next!
