I love this series something fierce. When I saw that there was a new book and it was about Green I was ecstatic. Sadly, it fell short for me. Even though I liked Green and Kage I didn't connect with them the way I wanted. It was Ida Sue and all her craziness that stole the show for me again. That woman and her bantering seriously is some of the best things in the romance world.

Even though this wasn't my favorite, I'm still a die-hard can of this family and series.

I got as far as finding out the main character is named Green House and his brother is White Hall. Let's not forget Grey, Black, and Green. Are you serious? I just can't do it.

The plot of this book was weird and so was the characterization of everyone in it. The love interest was also a major asshole and I just didn't care about any of it.

SURPRISE PREGNANCY TROPE AND CHARACTERS THAT DIDN´T MAKE SENSE

So a few things. One, and this is about me so feel free to skip to the next paragraph but I think it’s entertaining, I think I’m like super into the “homeless girl trope”. is that a real trope you ask? No I just made up the term right now. Anyway. I started out sorta liking this book because the h was pretty much homeless and I’m a sucker for H rescuing h from a shitty situation. Anyway, let’s get to the reason(s) why I dnf.

H was such an asshole for so much of the beginning and then suddenly flipped the switch and started calling h baby??? Huh??? Barely any apology from H for his actions. I don’t have a huge problem with an asshole H but he needs to apologize and realize he was wrong. There needs to be angst. It was way too fast of a turn around in this book. They really went from I hate ur fucking guts to please fuck me.  Couldn’t keep reading after that. Also just fucking weird guys. The H is from a family in which all the sons are named after colors??? So fucking stupid I’m sorry I hated that so much. H’s full name is Green House Lucas… I can’t with that. H’s mom, named sue or something, was straight up off her rocker. I know her characters supposed to be funny but it was overdone. Wayyyy too overdone. I definitely have more issues with the book but I hope this’ll serve as a lil warning for y’all for what you’re about to get into. Didn’t think I’d write this much but alas. If you read till here I appreciate you and really recommend that you read something else.

Edit: remembered another issue I had
H was 35(?) and h was 19/20. I don’t have a problem with an age gap I really don’t. But H had a son that was like 14?!??! How does that make sense??? You’re telling me I’m not supposed to bat an eye at the fact that the h was 5/6 years older than the H’s son??? Nah no thanks sorry.

Another edit: can you tell I don’t have anyone to talk to about this so I’m basically using StoryGraph as a journal??
There is a homeless heroine trope AND a bunch of books that fit it in goodreads. If anyone thinks they’d enjoy that go for it I’m about to find my next read :))
