Friends to lovers with an unhealthy amount of mutual pining! It wasn’t bad, it just kind of dragged a bit because it was dual pov so you know they’re into each other but it literally takes them 12 years to do anything about it.

Also no spice, which would have added something!

This book reminded me so much of One Day In December, which I loved. Jo Lovett is an amazing writer. This book didn’t quite meet my expectations because the Evie and Dan mess it up over and over and over. Most of the book is missed moments and each of them in relationships with other people. By the time they finally really got together I wondered if they really could make it work after so many failed opportunities.

Love a married in Vegas trope, but even though this one started with it, it glossed over it pretty quick, not really explaining what went down until the end of the book. It spent a lot of time going back and forth for the span of 9 years telling Dan and Evie’s story, which I liked (especially the dual POV), but after a certain point it was just too much info and lead up and the conclusion felt rushed. British books always take a bit to get through for me anyway because of the vernacular and punctuation used.
