I was so happy to be able to read more about Lera and her quint. It’s an interesting plot point definitely but the first four are the best. A little disappointing to see character and relationship development start over but at the same time definitely captivated my attention.

I loved the power of five. But I had my doubts when I found out this was an academy series. But I’m so glad I was wrong. It’s so good.

I was really hesitant to start the Great Falls aspect of the series. I had loved the original series so much, and to be honest this one didn't sound very interesting. But I pushed through and read it, and I don't regret it. While it was completely different, it was still nice.

Lera didn't do crap in this one. She whined about her guys, griped at Gavriel, and just went along with her classes like nothing was wrong. She didn't even think to question where the mysterious rune came from. Like girl, runes don't just show up out of nowhere. Someone had to have put it there! All the progress she made from becoming a bad ass warrior just went down the drain with this one. She's back to being the helpless girl who can't do anything by herself. Smh
