This collects issues #1-7 of the 2011 Suicide Squad series, and follows the first outing of the criminals, come henchmen of the government, the Suicide Squad. I enjoyed myself reading this, and it was fun, but that was about it. If you liked the film, then you'll probably like this too, but it's not required reading, and I wouldn't rush out to buy my own copy. The story itself had a lot of disposable characters, and the art style wasn't one that I particularly liked. I'm going to have a full spoiler free review coming to you soon-ish, so keep an eye out for more of my thoughts.

I was honestly just curious because while most people didn't like the movie adaptation, I did. I wanted to see what the comics were about. The only part of this volume I liked was everything dealing with Harley and the joker. The rest just seemed to bounce around too much for me. I may keep going just to see more how the comic characters play out, but I still definitely liked the movie better for a change.

Got this at a bargain price on the kindle store, presumably due to trying to educate the masses on the New 52 series before their film versions come out.
I enjoyed it for the most part - my main draw to this was Harley Quinn, who I am a big fan of, but I did find myself liking Deadshot. Not keen on any of the other characters though which is why this didn't rate higher. Quite our but not the worst I have seen. I'm new to comics, but thought the art style was interesting enough and the storylines were a mix.
Not sure I enjoyed it enough to pay £8 for the second volume though, but I may give the film a shot when it comes out.

This series is just too dark for me, I think I will stuck to lighter reads.

Almost as bad as the movie it inspired.
