This is the continuation of Dylan Morgan and Sky Davis’s story. When we last left off a secret was revealed and Dylan went on tour leaving Sky with thoughts running wild around in her head.

“Because I thought walking away would make things easier. But for the first time in my life, leaving didn’t help. Walking away from you isn’t an option, Sky. Instead of hiding, I need to tell you the truth. If there is the smallest chance you’ll listen and forgive me, then the risk is worth trying.”

Dylan has his work cut out for him in proving himself to Sky and while in the process the surprises keeps coming out and thrown out to both of them. Are all the secrets and lies worth the risk of a broken heart?

The struggles in the different lives that they live made me fall in love with them as a person and as a couple. A recommend 4 stars read to the conclusion of Dylan and Sky’s story.

We start off in Falling Sky a few months after the end of the first book. Sky is in her new apartment trying to deal with losing Dylan and him not explaining. Dylan is back during a break in the tour and he has been taking different anxiety pills to deal with the tour and not having Sky. Eventually Dylan and Sky get together so he can tell her what really happened with Lily and Jem.

Sky was hurt that Dylan just left when she wanted him to explain so it is hard for her to trust him again. Their attraction is just too strong to ignore so the try again, slowly. This works for at least a while which is nice to get back into the groove of them as a couple. While they are rebuilding they have to deal with a lot of obstacle like the press and Lily.

This was a nice follow up to the first book. I was glad that their separation was not dragged out too long. I did feel that this book dragged a little in the middle just like the first book. However, I still enjoyed the book. Sky was good at handling the press and being with the celebrity Dylan.

In this book we are introduced to Myf, Dylan’s close childhood friend. She is the person that helps Sky and Dylan talk to each other again. She is similar to Sky in that she doesn't see Dylan as the rock star but just as her friend. But what kind of name is Myf? I have no clue how to pronounce it. It is interesting but I might need it spelled phonetically. Her full name is longer but I don't remember what it was. Myf was in the beginning of the book then faded away. That was unfortunate because she was interesting and could be a good friend for Sky.

The other band members of Blue Phoenix were in this book more than the first but not enough to really get to know them. As a result I am not really excited to continue on with this series. I might pick them up later but there is not a great pull to put other books aside to continue with these characters. I wish there was more with the other members in the book. That way I would know more about them other than drugs, staying with a woman that is completely wrong for you, and forgetting there is another one. I will revisit the series later but I have other things to read first.

I started this review after I started reading starting [b:Summer Star|23572257|Summer Star (Blue Phoenix, #1.5)|Lisa Swallow|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1419965259s/23572257.jpg|43170758] (Blue Phoenix #1.5). That is basically the first book from Dylan’s perspective. So I have that book on my mind and it is hard to finish this review. I think that I have enough and you will just have to read the books.

I have a problem with unequal relationships and here we have a driven and accomplished musician falling in love with a simple, directionless girl who only ever reads erotic novels. I'm all for wishful thinking but this was a stretch.

I was really looking forward to this book after the way the last one ended, you do need to read the first one before this one or you'll be confused. I was not disappointed, Lisa Swallow has a way of taking hold of all of my emotions and leaving me a jumbled mess (in the best way) while making me feel everything the characters are. I loved seeing Dylan and Sky grow as people and a couple as well as getting a glimpse at the struggles of the whole band. I most enjoyed getting a closer glimpse of Jem, it was nice to get a peek at the man behind the facade and made me see him completely differently. I'm really looking forward to reading about the rest of the band.
