This was a good book.

I'm a person who can fall out of crime/thrillers if they just don't engage me but this one I just kept wanting to find time to get back into it.

While it did touch me as a little predictable at times, I loved how everything kept shifting just enough that even though you think you know you also aren't sure. You know? And so I was hooked throughout.

I also just really enjoy books that insert mental health in a way that is respectful of everything that it is, but still embody you in how mental health can really skew how you see reality and question yourself. I felt it so personally (but also trigger warning if this might trigger you!).

And I know some readers might dislike the fact that a mental health professional was portrayed as perhaps not the best. But honestly, I related to this too. It didn't disregard seeking professional help at all, but there is also a chance the professional you end up with isn't the one for you.

All around, good book! I would for sure pick up Epstein again.

I liked how sparrow had a basis in reality. However, I think things may have been blown out of proportions. I find it quite hard to believe that a poor child would be medically treated so poorly. IN all the interviews that were written with the psychologists, it was obvious that she went into every session believing that the child has attention seeking habits. Each psychologist is medically required to keep an open mind regarding the issues of the patient and keep an eye on all the diagnostics that the patient shows. All in all, not bad.

A solid psychological thriller that had me feeling jumpy, so I guessed this book did it’s job of keeping me thrilled!

A great debut book with a complex storyline, one that reeled me in with it’s characters and creep factor. When the lead character is questioning her own sanity and you realise she’s an unreliable narrator you know this is going to be a fun ride. The ending was eventful and I enjoyed the way the story played out. I’ve not read many exciting psychological thrillers by Australian authors so I’m a little excited by this one!

2.5?
Main character annoyed me, guessed the twist early-ish.

It was good! A YA psychological thriller that kept me guessing. I stayed up late to finish it because I wanted to know how it ended. Very plot driven and a quick read. Main characters are all teens, and it’s set in NSW, Australia. I’m not a huge YA fan, but it was well written and suspenseful.

i didn’t loveeee the writing style of this book but the plot was good, especially once it got going and i thought i had predicted the ending and i almost sort of did but it was a lot more elaborate than i had expected but i would recommend

I just dont understand why I took so long to read this!!!!
IT WAS SO GOOD!!!!!!
I trusted nobody in this book basically the entire time and although my suspicions were 50% correct I still got so much wrong!
I have read physiological thrillers before but this one really really messed with my head. I was so gullible, I would believe just about anything Tash believed. If you are a fan of Alex Bell or Rebecca James, you will absolutely devour this book.
Sarah Epstein, please hurry up and write something else....please :)

An incredibly suspenseful, intense psychological thriller from Sarah Epstein. I read this book in just one day - I was hooked on every word and creeped out the entire time. I did, however, guess the ending after putting together a few clues left behind by the author. If you're looking for a thrilling page-turner of a book, look no further!
