This book is *peak* Tessa Bailey in the best way! It's steamy, hilarious, and full of heart - and it has an ideal plot ratio of romance to murder-mystery. If you're a fan of the grumpy-sunshine trope, this is a must-read!

"You're inside me for good, too, Taylor.
From the first second I saw you to the
last second I'm given.
Stay with me.
Watch me prove it."

A fast mystery-ish and romance novel based on an elementary school teacher aka a murder mystery cases fanatic and an ex-cop reverted to a bounty hunter.

Their nicknames for each other?
•Taylor:Bounty Hunter
•Myles: Half Pint.

Plot?
After years of saving money and being called cheap, she was able to afford a “luxury” vacation for her brother who she love dearly. When she gets stuck into a murder case, she meets Myles, a grumpy ass bounty Hunter.
The attraction to one another was hard and it definitely felt like a whiplash for him.

Tropes?
Romance + Murder mystery
Grumpy vs Sunshine
Teacher vs Cop
Summer Romance
Light Murder mystery
Insta-lust to insta love? Mixed with fluff
Duo POV
Age gap ( him 30s her 20s)
Body guard trope?
Possessive walking red flag MC
Spicy🌶

There are times where I felt second hand embarrassment, like in the epilogue for example.
Also, sometimes she is naive? Careless? I know that she wants to be involve in the car bu she is kinda inattentive for a teacher;  especially when a  murderer is after her.
The MC can sometime be overbearing over FC.
-
They constantly do this push-and-pull thing.
I just wanted them to fuck it off the tension and express their true feelings.

But Tessa Bailey knows how to make it work:
"Our life together is at stake. Did I really think I could just walk away from her? I would sell my soul to the devil to be holding her right now. To hold her forever."
;

“I might be dominating her, but she's owning me.”
;

"You," she says against my ear. "I could
love you so easily.”
:

'I'm n-not property to be locked down.
"I am. I'm your property." His lips skim my
jawline. "Inside and out.”
{isn’t this swoon worthy}.
;

"This is me in your body, Taylor."
"This is you in my heart," I say, voice uneven. Kissing him softly. Once, twice. "Do you feel yourself there?"
"Yeah," he chokes out, eyes suspiciously
damp. "Keep me there. All right?"
"There's no getting you out. I don't
want to."
"You're inside me for good, too, Taylor.
From the first second I saw you to the last second I'm given. Stay with me.
Watch me prove it."
;

"You need to stop, sweetheart, we'll stop. You hear me? On a fucking dime. Whether it kills me or not."

-
The subplot of the murder case was not as strong as I expected. But again this is a romance novel.
-

How Taylor describes her feelings for Myles:
"He's like eating a spicy breakfast burrito after years of having oatmeal for breakfast."

-

Those who might feel it blasphemy…
they fuck in a church and it’s 🌶.
-

Props to Jude, Taylor’s brother to witness everything:
"You're not getting knifed. You're getting
wifed."
I need a book of his HEA.
