fun and compelling enough on its own. button does stumble around a bit when faces with the bigger than life figure of lewis hamilton. or so it seemed to me.
still i love a good story about drunken shenanigans.

I'm quite new to F1 (only got into it around June of 2023), so I missed Jenson's career by a wide margin. This book was basically completely new information to me, then, and it was really good. It's always interesting to read about the life of someone who is so starkly different than yourself, but I thought it was especially cool to get the stories of his karting days and the technical talk about the formula cars. Those things are just so interesting to me, and it was all here. It had a conversational style that made it quite approachable, too. It also made me cry, which was completely unexpected. I just really enjoyed reading this and am hoping I'll enjoy other F1-related books just as much.

Jenson Button is my all time favourite F1 driver, and although this book taught me a lot about the sport and I enjoyed this insight into his life, it just wasn’t written well and took me an age to get through. Granted he’s not an author, but there was a lot of going back and forth between events, mentioning something and going off on a complete tangent, and some stories that didn’t add anything. I would recommend this book if you are interested in Formula 1, but I would preface it by saying it’s not the best written.

This was really really interesting (surprise, surprise) ! I did think it was funny that Jenson tried to tell us he wasn't wealthy lol. But it was a really good read. So cool to hear in detail about his career, and of course his thoughts on certain people. Compared to Nigel's autobiography I think this was a bit more shallow, and I was a bit gutted he didn't talk more generally about F1 now/ when it was being written. It would be cool to hear what Jenson thinks about certain teams or drivers, it would offer extremely interesting insight.

I honestly wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did, I grew up watching Jenson on the F1 circuit, I remember be told to be quite or get out of the telly room while I was at my grandparents because my Grampy was a BIG F1 fan and always watched the races. So I remember watching Jenson growing up, seeing his story, his career from karting to F1 was just amazing. I absolutely loved it.
