The premise was very interesting but the summary is only reflective of about 1/4th of the book.

I also didn't really like the love interest and her holier than thou view of the world. She was too much of a contrast to the main character.

I have mixed feelings about this one. The positives are stronger than the negatives (hence the 3.5 star rating). The characters are quirky and enjoyable. The author does a wonderful job of smoothly introducing the fantasy world she's created. And I especially liked Buttons, the very strange zombie/skeleton mouse. (An homage to Pratchett's character, Death of Rats, perhaps?)

Sadly, there are negatives as well. The book is just too long. There's a huge section in the middle where we're just getting ready to do something. It goes on and on and never seems to get anywhere. This could be a 4- or 5-star book with a lot of ruthless pruning.

i loved this book so much! delly was such a fun main character, and i thought that her romance was so sweet, i am obsessed. i felt like when the two were getting to know each other they interacted in a very realistic way. like they would accidentally say the wrong things to each other but learn from it and grow better as a couple :)
the plot was really exciting, and i cared a lot about all of the side characters. i did not want this book to end!
the writing is fantastic, super funny and the author is great at word choice.
